Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join a leading manufacturing solutions provider. This fully remote, permanent role enables you to design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex manufacturing processes for advanced materials from anywhere in South Africa.

You will drive continuous improvement using SPC, DOE, FMEA, and lean principles, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and timely project delivery in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a strong background in chemical/materials manufacturing and process engineering.
• Experience with SPC, DOE and FMEA in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced process control strategies to improve quality and efficiency.
• Analyze production data using statistical methods to identify trends and root causes.
• Design and conduct DOE experiments to optimize parameters and validate techniques.
• Collaborate with R&D, QA and production to integrate new processes and materials.
• Troubleshoot complex manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions.
• Create SOPs and work instructions; maintain thorough process documentation.
• Stay updated on industry advances in manufacturing and materials science.
• Mentor junior engineers and production staff; manage multiple projects remotely.
