Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer focused on Process Development in a hybrid, Midrand-based role. You will analyze, design, and improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, quality, and safety, working with production, engineering, and QA teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in process design, with Lean/Six Sigma expertise and proficiency in Visio, Arena, and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on process design and development.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in process mapping software (e.g., Visio), simulation tools (e.g., Arena), and data analysis techniques.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams.
• Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, effectively managing on-site and remote tasks.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa.
• Experience with CAD software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing production and operational processes to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
• Design, develop, and implement new or improved processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Utilize process mapping, simulation, and data analysis tools to evaluate process performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and ensure successful integration.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process improvements.
• Support the implementation of new technologies and automation within manufacturing environments.
• Monitor process performance post-implementation and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives and ensure process compliance.
• Prepare reports and presentations on process development projects and outcomes.
