Placements24 is seeking a Mine Planner for open pit operations near Bloemfontein. You will develop short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans, optimize production, and collaborate with geology, survey, and operations teams to translate resource models into practical schedules.

You will leverage Deswik, Vulcan, and Gemcom to build 3D models, evaluate options, and ensure plans comply with safety and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of open pit mine planning experience.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan or Gemcom software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated mine plans and production schedules for open pit operations.
• Create 3D models and optimize pit designs using planning software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations of mining scenarios.
• Collaborate with geologists to align plans with resource models and data.
• Ensure plans meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor performance, identify deviations, and propose mitigations.
