Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mine Planning Engineer near Nelspruit to develop and optimize mine plans, integrating geological models, survey data, and production targets for both underground and open-pit operations.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering and at least 7 years of practical planning experience, with proficiency in Deswik or Vulcan and strong data interpretation skills. Relocation support and a competitive package are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Experience with open-pit and underground planning advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret geological and survey data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term mine plans for both underground and open-pit operations.
• Integrate geological models, survey data, and production targets into comprehensive mine plans.
• Perform reserve calculations and resource modeling to support strategic mine planning.
• Utilize mine planning software to design mine layouts, schedules, and sequences of operations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for potential new mining areas or modifications.
• Collaborate with operations, geology, and engineering teams to ensure plans are practical, safe, and meet production objectives in Nelspruit.
