Job summary

You will develop and update long-term plans, perform design and scheduling with Vulcan/Deswik/MineSight, and collaborate with operations, geology and engineering to ensure feasible, safe execution.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency in Vulcan, Deswik and MineSight or equivalent software.
• Strong understanding of open-pit and/or underground mining principles.
• Experience in resource modeling and reserve estimation is beneficial.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update long-term and strategic mine plans, considering geological models, production targets, and economic factors.
• Perform mine design and scheduling using specialized mine planning software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects or mine expansions.
• Optimize mine layouts, access routes, and extraction sequences for efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with operations, geology, and engineering departments to ensure plan feasibility and alignment.
• Monitor plan execution and provide recommendations for adjustments based on operational performance and changing conditions.
