Placements24 is seeking an efficient Insurance Claims Handler focused on Motor Claims to join their Mossel Bay team. You will manage the full lifecycle of motor claims, from first reporting to final settlement, ensuring a fair and timely process for policyholders, repairers, and third parties.

The role requires strong communication, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Claims Handler in motor insurance preferred.
• Solid understanding of motor vehicle components, repair processes and costs.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficient with claims management software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service and communication, empathetic with sensitive situations.
• Ability to work independently and in a busy Mossel Bay office.

Responsibilities

• Receive and register new motor insurance claims.
• Assess claim validity based on policy terms and conditions.
• Communicate updates and explain the claims process to claimants.
• Appoint and manage repairers and assessors.
• Authorize payments for approved claims promptly.
• Identify potentially fraudulent claims and escalate.
• Maintain detailed records in the claims management system.
