Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer in Mossel Bay to lead process improvement across manufacturing operations. You will apply Lean and Six Sigma to reduce waste, boost quality, and lower costs while developing SOPs and data-driven decision tools.

This hybrid role combines on-site collaboration with remote monitoring, requires a 5+ year track record in industrial engineering, and a strong ability to analyze data using Minitab or Excel. Proximity to Mossel Bay is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in industrial engineering with a proven process-improvement track record.
• Strong knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma; certification preferred.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, Excel).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup and manage priorities.
• Proximity to Mossel Bay or willingness to commute.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, analysis, and implementation of process-improvement projects across manufacturing and operational areas.
• Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, 5S, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for consistency and quality.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Collaborate with production teams, quality assurance, and management to sustain improvements.
• Develop and track KPIs to measure effectiveness of changes.
• Train and mentor staff on new processes and methods.
• Contribute to efficient production layouts and material flow strategies.
• Stay updated on latest industrial engineering techniques and technologies.
