Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a results-driven Industrial Engineer to lead Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence at our Rustenburg site. The hybrid role requires a proactive professional to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and build a culture of continuous improvement through Kaizen events, VSM, 5S, and Kanban.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze production data and implement cost-saving improvement projects, with a strong track record in Lean in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial engineering focusing on Lean and continuous improvement.
• Proven track record leading Lean initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, 5S, Kanban).
• Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt is required; Black Belt preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with production data.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing across production areas.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and rapid improvement workshops.
• Develop and execute Value Stream Maps to identify waste.
• Implement and manage 5S programs for organized, efficient workplaces.
• Analyze production KPIs to identify gaps and prioritize improvements.
• Collaborate with supervisors, team leaders, and operators to foster continuous improvement.
• Develop and deliver Lean training for concepts and tools.
• Standardize processes to ensure consistency and quality.
• Support integration of new technologies to enhance efficiency.
