Placements24 is seeking a results-driven Industrial Engineer to lead Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence at our Rustenburg site. The hybrid role requires a proactive professional to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and build a culture of continuous improvement through Kaizen events, VSM, 5S, and Kanban.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze production data and implement cost-saving improvement projects, with a strong track record in Lean in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial engineering focusing on Lean and continuous improvement.
• Proven track record leading Lean initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, 5S, Kanban).
• Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt is required; Black Belt preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with production data.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing across production areas.

This hybrid role demands a proactive individual committed to driving efficiency, eliminating waste, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will lead Kaizen events, implement Lean tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban), and analyze production data to identify and execute improvement projects that enhance productivity and reduce costs. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in applying Lean principles within a manufacturing setting and excels at collaborating with cross-functional teams. This is a key role for enhancing our operational performance in the North West province, offering a blend of on-site engagement and remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools across all production areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated experience leading and facilitating Lean initiatives (Kaizen, VSM, 5S, Kanban).
• Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification is required; Black Belt is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret production data effectively.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to motivate and engage teams in improvement activities.
• Experience working in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site project execution with remote coordination.
