Placements24 is seeking a Lead Business Analyst to drive critical projects within Cape Town operations. The role blends hybrid work with in-office collaboration, translating complex requirements into actionable specs and guiding a team of analysts.

You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, define scope, and ensure delivery aligned with strategic objectives in the financial services sector. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in BA with leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years in a lead/supervisory role.
• Extensive experience in the financial services sector.
• Proficient in requirements elicitation techniques and documentation (use cases, user stories, process flows).
• Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with the Cape Town financial market is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation process for complex financial systems.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide a team of business analysts, fostering their professional development.
• Develop detailed functional and non-functional specifications for software development.
• Facilitate effective communication between business units, technology teams, and third-party vendors.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) planning and oversight.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and propose solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of business analysis methodologies and standards.
• Analyze market trends and regulatory changes impacting the financial services industry in Cape Town.
