About the Role

Our client, a cutting-edge financial technology firm, is looking for an experienced and strategic Lead Business Analyst to join their fully remote team. This position is ideal for a proactive individual who can bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. As a Lead Business Analyst, you will be instrumental in defining project requirements, facilitating stakeholder communication, and driving the successful delivery of innovative financial products and services. This is a 100% remote role, allowing you to work from any location within South Africa. You will lead a team of business analysts and work closely with product managers, developers, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the business analysis function for major projects, from initiation to implementation.
• Elicit, document, and validate business requirements from diverse stakeholders using various techniques (e.g., workshops, interviews, surveys).
• Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between business units, IT teams, and third-party vendors.
• Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Develop and manage project roadmaps, backlogs, and sprint planning in an agile environment.
• Oversee the testing and quality assurance phases of projects, ensuring requirements are met.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of business analysis best practices and methodologies.
• Present project status, findings, and recommendations to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in business analysis, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in the financial services or fintech industry.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Expertise in requirements elicitation, documentation, and management techniques.
• Proficiency in creating process models (e.g., BPMN) and user stories.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Outstanding communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects, multiple stakeholders, and competing priorities effectively.
• Experience with data analysis and modeling is a plus.
