Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Engineer in George to design, develop and implement electrical systems for solar and wind energy installations. The role is hybrid, combining office and site collaboration with remote engineers to optimize performance and integration of renewable technologies.

You will perform grid interconnection studies, PV layout designs, and electrical calculations while working with project teams to meet schedules and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, renewable energy preferred.
• Familiar with electrical design principles and software such as AutoCAD Electrical and PVSyst.
• Understanding of grid interconnection standards and requirements for renewable energy facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical systems for solar and wind farm projects, including PV arrays, inverters, and grid interconnection.
• Perform electrical calculations, including load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
• Develop and review technical specifications, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and external vendors to ensure timelines and quality.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to gather data and provide on-site technical support.
