Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a passionate Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and implement electrical systems for solar, wind, and other renewable installations in the Stellenbosch area. You will work on reliable, efficient solutions and ensure grid compatibility.
The role requires a strong background in power systems, inverter tech, storage, and SA energy standards. You'll collaborate across project teams, oversee testing and commissioning, and contribute to green energy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering with power/renewables focus.
- At least 5 years in electrical engineering with renewables (solar/wind).
- Experience with inverter technology, storage systems, and grid integration.
- Familiarity with South African energy regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for renewable energy projects including PV, inverters, and grid components.
- Perform load analyses, simulations, and energy yield assessments.
- Ensure designs comply with electrical codes and grid interconnection rules.
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and procurement.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of systems.
- Support selection of equipment and technologies.
