Placements24 seeks an Electrical Engineer focusing on renewable energy in Paarl to design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for solar and wind projects. The role combines office design with on-site support.

You will work with project managers and site engineers to ensure code compliance, grid interconnection, and safe operation, with opportunities for growth in a rapidly expanding sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of power electronics, grid integration, and protection systems for renewable energy.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify electrical components for renewable energy systems, including solar arrays, wind turbines, and associated power conversion equipment.
• Prepare electrical design packages, including single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international electrical codes, safety standards, and grid interconnection requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams to oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems on-site.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues that may arise during project development and operation.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new renewable energy projects.
