Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in renewable energy to join our Sandton team on a hybrid basis. You will design and implement sustainable electrical systems, enabling solar and wind projects and grid integration.

You'll work closely with project managers, site engineers and partners to ensure compliant, efficient solutions from design through commissioning, with opportunities to grow in a forward-looking energy company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (power systems or renewable energy).
• Minimum 5 years experience in renewable energy design/engineering.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, inverters, energy storage.
• Familiarity with grid integration challenges and standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work remotely and on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including solar farms and wind installations.
• Perform load flow analysis, grid studies, and system performance modeling.
• Select electrical equipment and components for efficiency and compatibility.
• Ensure designs comply with grid codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers and stakeholders to ensure project execution.
• Conduct site assessments and provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
