Placements24 is assisting a client in the Oil & Gas sector near Paarl in recruiting an experienced HSE Advisor. You will develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and promote a proactive safety culture across operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, at least five years of HSE experience in hazardous environments, and strong knowledge of SA HSE legislation. CSP certification is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an HSE Advisor, preferably in Oil & Gas or similar hazardous environments.
• In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and standards.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
• Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing safe work procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HSE management systems and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to all levels of personnel.
• Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Advise management on HSE matters and contribute to continuous safety performance improvements in the Paarl area.
