Placements24 is seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to join our client’s operations in Soweto in the Oil & Gas sector. You will develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures, conduct site inspections, and provide expert guidance to management and staff to uphold the highest safety standards.

The role requires strong auditing, incident investigation, risk assessment, and training delivery capabilities, with NEBOSH certification preferred.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior HSE Advisor to join their operations in Soweto . This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across all company activities within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures, conducting site inspections, and providing expert advice to management and employees. This position requires a proactive and knowledgeable professional committed to fostering a strong safety culture and minimizing operational risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company standards.
• Investigate HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff on all HSE-related matters.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels.
• Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee involvement in HSE initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HSE professional, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector .
• In-depth knowledge of South African HSE legislation and industry best practices.
• Certification such as NEBOSH or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Strong auditing, investigation, and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving abilities.
