Placements24 seeks an experienced HSE Manager to lead health, safety and environmental initiatives in Pretoria. The role focuses on developing, implementing and maintaining comprehensive HSE policies across operations to ensure a safe working environment and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, clear communication and a proven ability to manage risk, investigations and training programs within the oil and gas sector.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in HSE management, preferably within oil and gas.
• Bachelor's degree in OH&S, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of South African HSE legislation and ISO standards (e.g., OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, ISO 14001).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HSE management systems aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely reporting.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors.
• Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure permits and licenses are up-to-date.
