Job summary

Alpha is seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist / Senior HR Administrator to provide comprehensive HR support across employee relations, recruitment, HR administration, performance management and compliance.

You will partner with line managers to champion people practices, ensure legal compliance under South African labour laws, and foster a positive employee experience while coordinating onboarding and development.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related field.
• Experience in HR Generalist role (2-3 years).
• Strong knowledge of SA labour legislation.

Responsibilities

#Alpha is seeking a dedicated and experienced HR professional to join their team as an HR Generalist / Senior HR Administrator. This key role provides comprehensive HR support across employee relations, recruitment, HR administration, performance management, and compliance. You will collaborate closely with line managers to champion effective people practises, ensure legal compliance, and cultivate a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

• Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations enquiries
• Provide guidance to managers on disciplinary procedures, ensuring fairness and consistency
• Draught, review and manage disciplinary documentation
• Handle conflict resolution, conduct thorough investigations, and oversee terminations

HR Administration & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
• Coordinate onboarding, contracts, leave management, and offboarding processes
• Administer employee benefits and general HR procedures
• Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation, including BCEA, LRA, and EEA

Performance Management & Business Support

• Support performance management and employee engagement initiatives
• Partner with line managers to provide expert HR advice and support
• Analyse HR trends and contribute to workforce planning activities
• Promote a positive workplace culture to enhance employee retention
• Assist with induction, training initiatives, and identifying development needs

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline
• 2-3 years' experience in an HR Generalist role
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation
• Valid driver's licence and access to own vehicle
