Placements24 is seeking a strategic Head of Human Resources to lead a remote-first HR function supporting a distributed workforce. You will develop and implement HR strategies aligned with our mission, focus on talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, performance management, and compliance.

This senior role requires 10+ years in HR, 5+ in leadership, a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), deep knowledge of employment law, and success in remote organizations.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and visionary Head of Human Resources to lead their HR function for their distributed workforce, with organizational ties to Soweto . This fully remote role will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive HR strategies that align with the company's mission and values, supporting employee growth, and fostering a positive and productive work culture. You will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and HR compliance. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned HR leader to shape the employee experience in a dynamic, remote-first organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's business objectives and promote a positive employee culture.
• Oversee talent acquisition, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent for a remote workforce.
• Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management processes.
• Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs.
• Ensure HR policies and practices comply with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
• Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
• Drive initiatives related to employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or equivalent is highly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.g., HR Manager, Director of HR).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies for remote or distributed organizations.
• Deep knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and other relevant HR technology.
