Job summary

Staff Solutions in Makhanda is seeking a Lodge Front of House professional to support daily operations alongside the Lodge Manager. You will ensure guest comfort, oversee service during meals, and coordinate with staff to uphold the lodge’s standards.

The role requires 1–2 years’ Front of House experience in a 5-star lodge, with strong attention to detail, English communication, and hospitality know-how. Proactive guest care and stock reporting are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work with an assistant or Lodge Manager to support daily lodge operations.
• Perform housekeeping checks according to set standards.
• Supervise restaurant operations before and during meals and support service staff to meet company standards.
• Ensure meal standards are adhered to before meals leave the kitchen.
• Check guests in and out; handle guest requests during their stay.
• Assist with guest requests for additional services and supplies.
• Liaise with senior lodge management to report issues and suggest improvements.
• Assist with stock counts and prepare weekly/monthly reports.

Job description

1. Minimum criteria required

• Hotel Management Diploma/Certificate or equivalent
• Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in Front of House or similar position at a 5-star lodge establishment

2. Key Performance Areas of this position include

• To work with an assistant or Lodge Manager to provide support in the daily operations of a lodge
• Housekeeping Checks done according to set Standards
• Supervising restaurant’s functioning before and during meal times and supporting the service staff, and making sure this is carried out to company standards
• Making sure Meal standards are adhered to before meals leave the kitchen
• Checking guests in and out, and taking care of guests requests during their stay
• Act on guest’s requests for additional services and supplies
• To liaise with senior lodge management to report anomalies, variances and new ideas for improvements
• Assist with Stock Counts and Weekly and Monthly Reports

3. Competencies required
