Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment's client, a luxury private game reserve in the Eastern Cape, seeks a polished Guest Relations Officer to oversee guest experiences and coordinate daily lodge operations. You will conduct housekeeping checks, assist with restaurant service, manage check-ins/outs, and liaise with management to uphold five-star standards.

Live-in arrangements may be available. Candidates should have a hotel management qualification, 1–2 years in front-of-house, excellent English, and strong

Qualifications

• Hotel Management Diploma, Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• 1-2 years' experience in a Front of House or similar position within a 5-star lodge or luxury hospitality environment
• Excellent spoken English with a professional and presentable manner
• Strong guest relations and hosting skills, with Butler experience advantageous
• Good knowledge of Food & Beverage Service, Housekeeping and Front Office operations
• Computer literate, including intermediate-level Excel
• Knowledge of Lightspeed, Sage Evolution and Protel advantageous
• Driver's Licence preferred
• Strong attention to detail, common sense and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Support the Lodge or Assistant Manager with the daily operation of the lodge
• Conduct housekeeping checks according to set standards
• Assist with restaurant operations before and during meal services
• Support service staff and ensure service standards are consistently maintained
• Check meal standards before dishes leave the kitchen
• Manage guest check-ins and check-outs and attend to guest requests throughout their stay
• Arrange additional services and supplies as requested by guests
• Communicate operational issues, variances and improvement ideas to senior lodge management
• Assist with stock counts and weekly and monthly reporting
