Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Retail Store Manager to support the Store Manager at the Stellenbosch branch in the Western Cape. You will help lead daily operations, drive sales, and ensure a welcoming, efficient shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, managing inventory, maintaining visual merchandising standards, deputizing for the Store Manager when required, and promoting a safe, positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Retail supervisory or assistant management experience (1–2 years).
• Proven ability to drive sales and deliver excellent customer service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
• Knowledge of inventory management and visual merchandising.
• Proficient with POS systems and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in daily store operations.
• Drive sales and meet store targets through customer engagement.
• Train, coach and develop retail staff.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards across the store.
• Manage stock levels and participate in counts.
• Provide outstanding customer service and address inquiries.
• Operate the POS system accurately.
• Deputize for Store Manager when needed.
• Create a positive and safe working environment in Stellenbosch.
