Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Retail Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in a Soweto, Gauteng location. You will drive sales, manage staff, and ensure an exceptional customer experience while maintaining store standards.

You will oversee inventory, scheduling, and POS operations, aiming to exceed sales targets and develop the team for future advancement within the organization.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in retail, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Proven ability to drive sales and deliver excellent customer service.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations and inventory management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate a team and manage staff performance.
• Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer apps.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations alongside the Store Manager.
• Drive sales by guiding the team and implementing strategies.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve inquiries quickly.
• Supervise, train and develop retail staff.
• Manage stock levels, receiving, stocking and stock counts.
• Maintain store standards and visual merchandising.
• Open/close the store and ensure security.
• Assist with staff scheduling and performance management.
• Process customer transactions accurately via POS.
