Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Site Engineer with geotechnical focus for projects in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will oversee soil mechanics, foundation design, and earthworks to ensure safety and structural integrity on site.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with Geotechnical specialization and at least 3 years of on-site experience, strong data interpretation from geotechnical tests, and clear collaboration with consultants and project teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical specialization.
Minimum 3 years of site Engineer experience with geotechnical responsibilities.
Strong understanding of soil mechanics and earthworks.
Ability to interpret geotechnical data and drawings.

Responsibilities

Oversee geotechnical aspects of construction projects on site.
Monitor and interpret data from soil tests and other geotechnical investigations.
Ensure foundations, earthworks and retaining structures comply with designs.
Liaise with geotechnical consultants, site teams and project managers.
Prepare daily and weekly site reports documenting progress and compliance.
Implement and enforce site safety procedures for excavation and earthworks.
