Placements24 seeks a qualified Geotechnical Engineer to join our client’s team in Mahikeng, North West. The role focuses on foundation design and ground engineering solutions, ensuring stability for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure through expert soil and rock analysis, site investigations, and laboratory testing.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical specialization.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Technologist with ECSA.
• Minimum 5 years geotechnical investigation and foundation design experience.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (PLAXIS, SLOPE/W) is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics and engineering geology.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee site investigations including drilling and sampling.
• Analyze soil and rock data from laboratory tests.
• Design foundations for shallow and deep structures.
• Prepare geotechnical investigation reports and recommendations.
• Advise on ground improvement, slope stability, and retaining structures.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and other engineers.
