Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer for its Sandton team in Gauteng. The role focuses on evaluating ground conditions, advising on foundation design and earthworks, and coordinating site investigations for major projects across Gauteng.

The candidate should have a geotechnical or civil engineering degree with at least 7 years of experience; registration (Pr Eng) is desirable, and proficiency in Plaxis and GeoStudio is preferred. This is an on-site opportunity in Sandton.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of geotechnical experience including foundation design and site investigations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee geotechnical site investigations including soil sampling and in-situ testing.
• Analyze geotechnical data to determine soil/rock properties and assess site stability.
• Provide expert recommendations for foundation design (shallow and deep) and earthworks.
• Develop geotechnical reports, specifications and drawings for Sandton projects.
• Collaborate with structural/civil engineers and project managers to integrate findings.
• Ensure compliance with geotechnical standards and best practices.
