Placements24 is seeking a diligent Site Engineer with geotechnical focus for projects in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will oversee soil mechanics, foundation design, and earthworks to ensure safety and structural integrity on site.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with Geotechnical specialization and at least 3 years of on-site experience, strong data interpretation from geotechnical tests, and clear collaboration with consultants and project teams.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and technically proficient Site Engineer with a focus on geotechnical aspects to join their construction team in Queenstown . This role is essential for ensuring the structural integrity and stability of foundations, earthworks, and other ground-related structures on our projects. You will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical investigations, monitoring site conditions, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and liaising with specialist geotechnical consultants. This hands-on position requires a strong understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to the success and safety of critical infrastructure and building projects in the Eastern Cape, working primarily from the project site in Queenstown .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all geotechnical aspects of construction projects on site.
• Monitor and interpret data from soil testing, pile integrity tests, and other relevant geotechnical investigations.
• Ensure construction activities related to foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures comply with engineering designs and specifications.
• Liaise with geotechnical consultants, site teams, and project managers to address any ground-related issues.
• Prepare daily and weekly site reports, documenting progress, challenges, and compliance status.
• Implement and enforce site safety procedures, particularly concerning excavation and earthworks.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
