Job summary

RMG Recruitment (Pty) Ltd seeks a Front of House (FOH) Manager for a busy pub and restaurant in Summerstrand. You will oversee the guest experience from arrival to departure, bridging service, reservations, seating, and venue cleanliness.

You will lead guest service, direct food and beverage service, manage bar/floor operations, and ensure accurate payments and hygiene compliance. Flexible schedule for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Front of House management experience in pub/restaurant.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy goods.

Responsibilities

• Guest Service: greet patrons, manage reservations or walk-ins, seat guests efficiently.
• Food & Beverage Service: take orders, explain menu items, communicate dietary restrictions.
• Bar & Floor Operations: serve drinks/meals, clear tables, restock supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Guest Service: Greet patrons warmly, manage reservations or walk-ins, and seat guests efficiently.
• Food & Beverage Service: Take accurate orders, explain menu items or specials, and communicate dietary restrictions clearly to the kitchen.
• Bar & Floor Operations: Serve drinks and meals promptly, clear and sanitize tables, and restock station supplies.
• Payments & Compliance: Process bills using the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle cash or card transactions, and maintain safety and hygiene standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Environment: Fast-paced, people-focused pub and restaurant
• Customer and food service background essential
• Strong interpersonal communication, active listening, teamwork, and basic math for billing.
