Job summary

Our client in Centurion, Gauteng, is seeking a hands-on FOH Manager / Bar & Operations Manager to take responsibility for daily front-of-house and bar operations.

You will supervise wait staff, manage stock, cash-ups and POS controls, oversee opening/closing procedures, and contribute to events while maintaining service standards.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ hospitality experience with management responsibility.
• Experience as FOH/Restaurant Manager or similar.
• Experience supervising hospitality staff.
• Experience with POS systems, cash-ups, and basic financial controls.
• Experience with stock control/counts.
• Experience in restaurant, casual dining, pub/bar, or high-volume hospitality.
• Ability to work weekends, public holidays, functions and flexible restaurant hours.

Job description

Our client, a casual, family-oriented restaurant and events venue in Centurion, Gauteng, is looking for a hands-on FOH Manager / Bar & Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day front-of-house and bar operations.
The successful candidate must be experienced in staff management, customer service, bar operations, stock control, cash-ups and floor supervision, with the ability to manage the operation through the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily front-of-house and bar operations.
• Supervise, delegate and manage waiters and bar staff.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain service standards and customer experience.
• Handle customer queries and complaints.
• Manage staff training, performance and accountability.
• Conduct cash-ups and maintain POS controls.
• Manage bar stock, stock counts and investigate variances.
• Maintain venue presentation and cleanliness.
• Assist with functions, events and busy trading periods.
• Report operational issues to senior management.

Minimum Requirements – Must-Haves:

• 2–3 years’ hospitality experience with proven management or supervisory responsibility.
• Previous experience as an FOH Manager, Restaurant Manager, Assistant Restaurant Manager, Bar & FOH Manager or similar.
• Proven experience managing and supervising hospitality staff.
• Experience with restaurant POS systems, cash-ups and basic financial controls.
• Experience with stock control and stock counts.
• Experience in a restaurant, casual dining, pub-and-grill, bar or high-volume hospitality environment.
• Ability to work weekends, public holidays, functions and flexible restaurant hours.

Working Hours:

The position operates on a rostered shift basis, approximately 5 shifts per week / 20 shifts per month:

• Day Shift: Approximately 09:00–17:00
• Night Shift: Approximately 15:0–10 until close / lock-up

Venue trading hours:

• Wednesday to Saturday: Approximately 10:00–22:00
• Sunday: Approximately 10:00–18:00

Salary: Market-related, depending on experience and current package.

Start Date: As soon as possible, subject to notice period.
