Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Head of Business Development in Cape Town to lead expanding fintech partnerships and revenue growth. You will shape the commercial strategy, forge key alliances, and drive penetration across the African market while guiding a high-performing BD team.

The role requires 10–12 years in BD/strategy, exceptional negotiation and leadership skills, and deep knowledge of the fintech landscape.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or corporate strategy in financial services/tech.
• Track record of driving revenue growth through BD strategies.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive market penetration and revenue growth.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances.
• Lead negotiations for complex commercial agreements and partnerships.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, and sales to ensure cohesive go-to-market strategy.
• Manage and mentor a high-performing BD team.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and meetings.
• Develop and manage the BD budget.
• Provide strategic insights to the executive leadership team.
