Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our Rustenburg team. The role involves installing, testing and maintaining telecom equipment at customer sites, with extensive travel within the service area.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant trade certificate in Electronics/Telecommunications, hands-on experience in telecom systems, and a valid driver’s license. A customer‑facing, problem-solving mindset is essential for this dynamic field role.

Qualifications

• Technician with an Electronics/Telecommunications qualification.

• Knowledge of fiber optics, cellular networks and radio systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and test telecom equipment at customer premises.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing of network hardware.
• Diagnose and repair faults on telecoms systems and related equipment.
• Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests to minimise downtime.
• Provide basic technical support and training to end-users on equipment operation.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports and inventory of parts and tools.
