Placements24 is recruiting a Field Service Technician for our client in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on automated machinery, install new equipment, and provide on-site support to keep production lines running smoothly.

The role requires a National Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics and HMI interfaces.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of a National Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar role.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal area and occasional overnight stays.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Aufgaben

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on automated machinery and control systems.
• Install, configure, and commission new equipment and ensure systems operate to specifications.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to anticipate and address potential problems before they impact production.
• Provide on-site technical support and training to client personnel, ensuring they can operate equipment effectively.
• Maintain detailed service reports, logs, and inventory of spare parts.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company protocols during site visits and repair operations.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to provide feedback on product performance and client needs.
