Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our client in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. The role involves on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of complex machinery, acting as the technical face of the company for customers in the region.

Qualifications

Proven experience in field service or maintenance in industrial/manufacturing environments.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and PLC knowledge.
Willing to travel within KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and configuration of industrial equipment.
Diagnose, repair, and service machinery with timely solutions.
Liaise with clients to understand needs and ensure service satisfaction.
Maintain service reports and inventory of spare parts.
Collaborate with engineering team to resolve complex problems.
Adhere to safety regulations on client sites.
Coordinate travel and scheduling efficiently.
Provide technical training and support as required.
Respond to service calls and emergencies to minimise downtime.
