Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our client’s team in Midrand, Gauteng. You will install, troubleshoot, service and repair advanced electro-mechanical systems at client sites, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

The role requires 3–5 years of field service experience, strong knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and the ability to read schematics. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualifications as listed: N6 or National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of field service or maintenance/installation experience.
• Strong grasp of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electro-mechanical systems on-site.
• Perform diagnostic tests and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Respond to service calls and breakdowns with efficient solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, provide feedback on performance and improvements.
• Maintain detailed service reports with parts used and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to clients on operation and maintenance.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and reordering.
