Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Technician to service the Cape Town, Western Cape region. You will install, calibrate and commission industrial equipment, perform diagnostics and repairs, and provide on-site support and training to clients.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel. You will participate in preventative maintenance programs and maintain detailed service records across multiple client sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and calibrate industrial equipment according to manufacturer specifications and client requirements.
• Perform in‑depth troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.
• Execute timely and effective repairs on a wide range of industrial machinery, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues before they cause downtime.
• Provide on‑site technical support and training to client personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities using the company's reporting system.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and company policies during field operations.
• Effectively manage service inventory and spare parts to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, specifically within an industrial setting.
• A relevant technical qualification (e.g., NQF Level 4 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex industrial equipment problems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as required by operational needs.
