Placements24 is recruiting for an experienced Field Service Technician to join our client in Randburg, Gauteng. The role involves on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of complex industrial machinery with extensive travel to client sites across the region.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues, perform preventive maintenance, train client personnel and maintain detailed service reports while upholding safety standards and superior customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Field Service Technician in industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics and manuals.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and tools for repair.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Gauteng and surrounding regions.
• Self-motivated, organized and able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and specialized tools for industrial equipment repair.
• Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting is highly advantageous.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the specified region and occasionally beyond.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to diagnostics.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
