About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team, primarily serving the Paarl, Western Cape region. This role is critical for providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair services for our advanced industrial equipment and systems. You will be the primary technical point of contact for clients, ensuring their machinery operates at peak efficiency and addressing any issues promptly. This is a hands-on, field-based position requiring significant travel to customer locations. The ideal candidate possesses strong diagnostic skills, a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, and excellent customer service abilities. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission new equipment and systems at client sites.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues with industrial machinery.
• Conduct timely and effective repairs, replacing parts as needed to minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on equipment operation and maintenance.

• Manage spare parts inventory for service vehicle and ensure adequate stock levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field service role, preferably with industrial machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field environment.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned service territory, including occasional overnight stays.
• Physical ability to lift equipment, work in various environmental conditions, and perform hands‑on tasks.
