Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will provide on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair services for industrial equipment at customer sites across the region.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical/electrical engineering background, 3+ years in field service, and familiarity with PLC programming. Travel and driving are required; health insurance and ongoing certifications are part of the offering.

Responsabilidades

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repair services on industrial equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Install, commission, and upgrade equipment as per manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
• Provide comprehensive technical training and support to customer personnel.
• Conduct site assessments and prepare detailed service reports, documenting all work performed.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely replenishment for service activities.
• Collaborate with the engineering and sales departments to provide feedback on product performance and customer needs.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company guidelines during all on-site operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service or technical support role, preferably with industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience in diagnosing complex systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and test equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to travel frequently within Tembisa, Gauteng and surrounding regions, including occasional overnight stays.
• Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and automation systems is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
