Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd is seeking a hands-on Technical Assistant in Middelburg to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fibre optic and wireless systems. You will assist Senior Technicians to deliver high-quality network installations while ensuring safety and efficiency on every job.

The role involves site surveys, cable routing, CPE recovery, and participation in callout repairs.

Qualifications

Matric (Grade 12) is required.
Basic computer literacy is expected.
Good working knowledge of hand and power tools used in installations.
Driver’s license is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit and able to work in heights/ confined spaces.
Strong organisational skills and time management.

Responsibilities

Assist with site surveys including signal scans and photos for equipment placement.
Support installations by mounting brackets, running cables under guidance of Senior Technicians.
Perform CPE recovery and tidy work sites after installations or repairs.
Participate in callout repairs and maintenance tasks.
Keep tools and equipment organised in vehicles for daily operations.
Maintain cleanliness and order at job sites and follow safety procedures.
Work independently or as part of a team in varying weather and environments.
