Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd in Colesberg invites a hands-on Junior Field Technician to support fibre and wireless installations, repairs and callouts for homes and small businesses. You will follow SOPs, assist with CPE setup and cable runs, and help maintain safety standards.

You’ll work with the Team Leader, prepare for daily jobs, troubleshoot basic network issues, configure VoIP, update job cards, and develop practical skills through our academy.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification required.
• 1 year fibre optic splicing experience.
• 1 year RF/Wireless experience.
• Knowledge of network structures and crimping techniques.
• Basic networking and computer literacy.
• Experience with fibre troubleshooting tools is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs and safety procedures, document work.
• Assist Team Leader and Scheduler for daily operations.
• Prepare for jobs by checking stock and equipment.
• Perform standard fibre and wireless installations and CPE setup.
• Troubleshoot fibre and wireless networks and verify signals.
• Configure VoIP systems and update job cards for invoicing.
• Ensure client satisfaction before leaving site.
