Job summary

Telkom South Africa in the Western Cape is seeking a Tech Officer: Network Field Operations to install, recover, repair and maintain telephone equipment, services, cables, wireless and fibre technology to meet customer needs.

The role involves coordinating resources, inspecting equipment, handling documentation, and performing network inspections. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are required; 12 months relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in network field operations and equipment handling.
• Familiarity with telecom installation/maintenance standards.
• Ability to read/interpret technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect resources and equipment and maintain tool lists.
• Repair and maintain cable networks and related systems.
• Process documentation and reporting on site activities.
• Coordinate with customers and contractors for access and execution.
• Perform routine network inspections and fault localization.
