Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd in Modimolle invites hands-on Technical Assistants to help install, maintain, and troubleshoot fibre optic and wireless networks. You will support Senior Technicians with surveys, cable routing, and equipment placement to ensure quality and safety.

This role suits practical individuals who are dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or in a team across various sites and weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Good working knowledge of hand and power tools used in installations.
• A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Physically fit and able to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
• Strong organisational skills and time management.
• Presentable, reliable, and punctual with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Previous experience in a similar technical or installation environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site surveys, including signal scans and throughput tests.
• Support installations by mounting brackets, cable hooks, and running cables under supervision.
• Perform CPE recovery, removing equipment and tidying work sites.
• Participate in callout repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure tools and consumables are stocked and organised in vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness and order at job sites during and after work.
• Follow instructions and prioritise tasks as directed by the Install team.
• Adhere to Health and Safety procedures and uphold safety standards.
• Work effectively independently or in a team in all weather conditions, confined spaces, and at heights.
• Demonstrate pride in work ethic and quality of installations.
