Job summary

BRILLIANT COMPUTERS CITADEL AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY is seeking a hands-on Network Hands & Feet Support technician to operate at customer sites in the Free State region. You will perform onsite tasks, assist remote engineers, and ensure physical access, cabling, and device readiness are aligned with runbooks.

The role requires practical experience with enterprise networks, basic TCP/IP/VLAN knowledge, and the ability to follow instructions precisely.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or diploma in CS/IT/Networking preferred.
At least 2 years' hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks.
Basic networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers, firewalls.
Experience with console connections and device installation.
Travel to customer sites, ability to work independently.
Mandatory certifications: Working at Heights and Medical Fitness.

Responsibilities

Provide physical onsite assistance to enable remote troubleshooting and remediation.
Connect to devices via console per instructions.
Open racks, locate devices/ports and power-cycle as instructed.
Verify LEDs, link status, alarms, cabling condition; report findings.
Coordinate with Remote Support Team for post-install verification.
Follow runbooks exactly and document procedures.
