Placements24 is seeking a Mine Manager to oversee operations at their Rustenburg facility. This senior role requires strategic leadership across safety, production, finance, and HR to ensure efficient, profitable, and compliant mining activities.

The position demands a track record of leadership in mining, capability in managing underground operations, and the ability to drive continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Valid Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (SA).
• Minimum 10 years in mining operations with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven track record in managing complex mining operations and achieving production/financial goals.
• Strong understanding of underground mining methodologies and technologies.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety, productivity, and profitability targets.
• Develop short and long-term operational plans in line with company objectives.
• Ensure compliance with SA mining laws, health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage the mine's budget, control costs, and optimize resources.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team of mining professionals and staff.
• Foster a positive and proactive safety culture, aiming for zero harm.
• Oversee stakeholder engagement, including community relations and government liaison.
