Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Mine Manager to oversee all operational facets of a Cape Town region mine. The role requires strategic thinking, a track record in large-scale mining, and accountability for safety, productivity, and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive mining leadership, expertise in underground/open-pit operations, and strong planning and financial controls, complemented by excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive management experience in the mining industry.
• Proven experience in managing underground or open-pit operations.
• Strong knowledge of mine planning, production management, and financial control.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant professional certifications and a valid driver's license are essential.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all day-to-day mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement operational plans and budgets to achieve production targets and cost efficiencies.
• Lead, motivate, and develop the mine's operational and supervisory teams.
• Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all mining equipment and infrastructure.
