Placements24, on behalf of a client near Tembisa, seeks a seasoned Mining Operations Manager to oversee all mining activities. The role demands strategic leadership, strong operational background, and a focus on safe, cost-effective extraction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years in mine operations with 5+ in management.
• Experience with open-pit and underground mining methods.
• Knowledge of mine planning software and computerised management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans to meet production targets and KPIs.
• Oversee drilling, blasting, hauling and processing activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage budgets, control costs and seek efficiency gains.
• Lead and develop mine supervisors, engineers, and operators.
• Conduct regular site inspections and performance reviews.
