Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Group Financial Controller based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will lead the group’s financial operations, drive IFRS-compliant reporting, policy development, and internal controls across subsidiaries.

You will shape financial strategy, oversee FP&A, treasury, and external relationships, and mentor finance teams. A CA(SA) with 10–15 years’ leadership in group finance is expected, with SA tax and ERP experience.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) qualification mandatory or equivalent.
• 10–15 years of progressive financial management experience with group consolidation exposure.
• Senior financial leadership experience (e.g., Group Financial Manager, Financial Controller).
• Expert knowledge of IFRS, corporate finance, and South African tax laws.
• Experience with large-scale ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision‑making capabilities.
• Understanding of corporate governance and risk management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and consolidation of group financial statements in IFRS compliance.
• Develop and implement group-wide accounting policies and procedures.
• Direct the group's internal audit function to ensure effective controls.
• Oversee treasury operations, including cash management and foreign exchange.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
• Lead FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
• Drive financial system improvements and implementations across the group.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial stakeholders.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the executive team and board.
• Develop and mentor finance teams across entities.
