Job summary

Placements24, a leading financial services firm in Randburg, seeks a Senior Financial Controller to oversee financial operations and drive strategic planning. You will lead a team, ensure IFRS-compliant reporting, and embed robust controls across the finance function.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, liaise with auditors, and support senior management with insights for decision-making. The role demands CA(SA) and substantial leadership in Banking & Finance.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA) or equivalent with strong regulatory knowledge.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in finance, with 3+ in a supervisory role.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and SA Companies Act understanding.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including payroll, AR/AP, GL
• Publish IFRS-aligned monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements
• Develop and manage annual budget and forecasts
• Conduct variance analysis with commentary
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets
• Lead and mentor the finance team
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
• Drive process improvements and new systems
• Provide financial insights for strategic decisions
