Placements24 is seeking an Event Catering Coordinator in Pietermaritzburg to oversee planning and execution of diverse catering events across KwaZulu-Natal. You will be the main client contact, coordinating between clients, kitchen, and service teams to ensure flawless guest experiences.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to accommodate events in KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in event coordination, hospitality, or a similar client-facing role within the catering industry.
• Proven ability to manage multiple events and deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of catering events from inquiry to post-event follow-up.
• Liaise with clients to understand event needs, preferences, and budget.
• Prepare detailed event proposals, contracts, and service confirmations.
• Communicate event details to culinary and service teams.
• Manage event timelines and ensure on-schedule preparations and deliveries.
• Oversee on-site event setup and service standards.
• Address client concerns and resolve issues during events.
• Maintain records of client interactions, event details, and feedback.
